Afternoon at noon. Soldering Glass Slide Jewelry Making Workshop (see Below) Saturday, May 9, 2008 noon - 3:00 pm Come join Chris Loeb and myself for this creative and fun class which teaches you how to make your own handmade jewelry pendants and charms using our unique class slides, painted images/designs and a variety of studio materials. In this workshop you will be taught how to create your own artistic jewelry using established soldering techniques while using your own photos or images (or those from my collage art collection or vintage images). The class includes a top of the line soldering iron which comes with a temperature control unit, solder,copperfoil, glass slides, burnisher and flux pen as well as pins and chain. By the end of the class you will have created fabulous one of a kind artistic jewelry pieces that you can proudly give as gifts to family and friends or wear yourself! And the best part is that you can start making your own jewelry peices from home! We suggest you register early since there is limited seating. To register please call me at 770-315-5727. PAINTING WITH PATRICIA! Every Tuesday from 12:00 - 3:00 pm and 6:00 - 9:00 pm come join me for a laid-back and fun Painting class. No previous experience required. You can paint at your own pace and use products from the studio. You can experiment with painting backgrounds, a variety of watercolors, beeswax, canvasses, cigar box art and other cool mixed media projects. Join celebrated Quilter and Teacher Cynthia Willard for this fun and creative Quilting Class where you will assemble a collage of fabrics and embellishments with a personal photograph. A Quilter since 1990, Cynthia is well known in the Quilting community as one who pushes the traditional envelope with loud colors, stripes and poka dots. She has taught quilting classes since 1995 and started her business "The Quilting Diva" in 2004, when her and her husband moved to Cumming. Cynthia has chosen to teach Playful Quilt Expression at the Dibona Art Studio for those interesting in the art of quilting. This class will require a sewing machine with a straight stitch to assemble your collage. Several hanging methods will also be discussed. Students should provide a jpg file or a photo to be printed on the fabric. Also you can bring any embellishments you wish for this class. Embellishments can also be purchased from the Studio. For those of you who are avid Quilters, this will be a fun and creative class you won't want to miss! Christmas in August? It certainly is at the Dibona Art Studio! Join Patricia in this merry-making class where you will be creating beautiful Christmas Ornaments using Patricia's own vintage christmas images, die-cuts, and wonderful nostalgic embellishments that you would normally find at the turn of the century (1900). Using Mattboard, beads, gemstones, mica chips, vintage transparencies, old photos,charms,vintage ribbons, velvet leaves and gold and silver Italian paints you will assemble, dangle, embellish and paint one of a kind ornaments to decorate your tree or hang from anywhere in your home. You will also have the opportunity to make some special garland and NOEL signs too. Tea and Cookies will be served to make it a really fun afternoon. So come and celebrate Christmas early a the Studio! Christmas is only 6 months away!!   MEMORY CANVAS PAINTING CLASS: Chances are you have several incredible photos of your Family's History and probably have included
them in your family album. Patricia has designed a class that will give you the opportunity to honor your family's history even more by showcasing
your photos in a wonderful 9"x12" canvas painting that you create. Patricia will teach you the basics of creating
this "work of art", using a variety ot her techniques and working with waterbased color paints and mica
chips to give it sheen and depth. The effect is beautiful, enchanting, and makes the photos almost real-life. Just
bring your photos or reproductions to this class (Patricia can scan originals if desired) and the story behind the photos.
You will then paint around the photo on canvas, building up the background giving the canvas depth. You will also use
rubberstamping, texture techniques and deep luminous colors. Then you will add your photo and the story behind
the photo on canvas. The finishing touch will be to add beautiful vintage ribbons, charms, and other embellishments
to bring your story to life.
CLAY CRAZE TONIGHT! Bring your pasta machine and turn it on! Artist Barbara McGuire will have all the latest inspirations from ART UNRAVELED and will be anxious to share, so bring what inspires you too! We'll be cranking from 7:00 pm - on.

Collage Card Making Class Create beautiful collage cards using several different techniques including layering of papers and transparent images, glass beading, embellishments, vintage ribbons, walnut ink, rubber stamping, and embossing. Die cut your own cards and envelopes out of Patricia's collage papers and a variety of beautiful solid papers. Make as many as you can during the time allowed.
